Announced in October 2019 and released with Android 10 in 2020, the Microsoft Surface Duo was supposed to feature Android 11 in 2021, but it didn't. But the company hasn't forgotten about foldable devices as the smartphone finally gets the Android 11 update. It also includes streamlined quick settings, updated app drawer and folder designs, and improved dual-screen views. Edit photos in the OneDrive app.

Addresses the scenario described in Set OneNote to launch when top button is pressed on Surface Slim Pen 2. Surface Slim Pen 2 needs to be paired with Surface Duo.
2) Enabled in Surface Duo Features in Settings to choose your preference for answering calls when folded.
3) Select to automatically cover both screens when certain apps are opened, activated in the Surface Duo features in Settings.
4) Quick settings and notification widths optimized for portrait and landscape.
5) Adjust media volume directly from Quick Settings in All Devices mode.
6) All device modes and application states now use Microsoft SwiftKey's thumb mode.
7) Updated the design of the application drawer and folders with improved drag-and-drop support.
8) Redesigned Microsoft feed with updated cards and new Microsoft Start news and weather widgets.
9) Photos on OneDrive: A new and improved dual-screen experience for viewing and editing photos in the OneDrive app.
10) Xbox Game Pass: Find and play cloud games with an on-screen controller. Some devices, accessories and software are sold separately. Some apps and features require additional fees and/or subscriptions.
Microsoft said Android 11 will be coming to the Surface Duo in North America and Europe, but those with unlocked AT&T devices will have to wait as Microsoft is still "testing this release and awaiting final review" .
